About

I write speculative fiction. I’ve been nominated for the John W Campbell Award for Best New Writer (2012)

My first novel (fantasy) Redemption in Indigo won the Frank Collymore Literary Award for 2008 and was published by Small Beer Press in July 2010 and Jo Fletcher Books (Quercus) in March 2012. It won the 2011 William L. Crawford Award and the 2011 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature, and has been nominated for a World Fantasy Award.  My second manuscript (science fiction) The Best of All Possible Worlds won the Frank Collymore Literary Award for 2009 and will be published in 2013 by Jo Fletcher Books in the UK and Del Rey in the US.

This was once a place for me to write about my favourite books and authors. Now it’s more of a place to keep all my book-related news: reviews of my books, my interviews and guest blogging, and literary events in Barbados and elsewhere.  I’m also on Facebook and Goodreads, and I’m active on Tumblr and Twitter.

I am represented by Sally Harding of The Cooke Agency.

My non-fiction publications are listed here.
